For this test, we first analyze a sample from the person assigned female at birth. If their results indicate they are a carrier for Cystic Fibrosis or Spinal Muscular Atrophy, we will provide a testing kit for their male reproductive partner to test for that specific condition. This follows Medicare benefit requirements.
Key things to note:
-
Our partner lab cannot process a male sample until they have tested the female partner and confirmed carrier status.
-
Male customers ordering this test will need to provide their female partner's details. Orders without a reproductive partner will be cancelled.
- Males without a partner: Since our partner lab cannot process individual male samples for this test, we recommend our Individual Comprehensive Carrier test instead.
- Couples: Both partners can be tested simultaneously.
