Both saliva and blood samples are seen to be excellent options for DNA/genetic testing. At Eugene, we have chosen to collect DNA via saliva buccal swabs to make testing more accessible, less invasive, and easier to provide.
Saliva remains incredibly stable over an extended period of time and doesn't need to be refrigerated.
Results are processed in accredited laboratories in Australia and internationally, ensuring accuracy for medical decisions.
Our tests have a detection rate of over 99%, though ethnicity may affect this rate and there remains a small chance that someone could be a carrier despite receiving a negative result.
