Failure can occur due to different reasons including insufficient DNA, contamination of the samples, the most common one being the data obtained after testing did not pass the lab’s strict quality control to issue valid results.
The lab will test your sample a few times until exhausting the DNA extracted. After this, a new specimen is required.
